A picture of the proud owners & visitors from Little Rock, Arkansas

I hope that everyone is having a great weekend! My Mom & I are proud of the progress of the Rock Cottage:
Owners - Kathy Duvall & Sis Owens

My sister Tracy & friends from Little Rock, Arkansas

I'm looking for feet to go with these tubs. One antique dealer told me that I would have to buy an old tub to get the feet. Another dealer will see if any of his 4 sets of feet will match the tubs. In other words, this will take some hunting. Hopefully, I'll get a match.

This is green board, a waterproof sheet rock for bathrooms. I didn't know it would actually be green, but the color is a pretty turquoise.

Exterior paint is almost complete!
The niche in the wall has had some wood from part of the old trim added at the base:
I can't figure out why this old bead board is different colored stripes. I was told that it was salvaged wood, and from different homes. Does anyone know why these boards are different colors?
The den area has had old flooring removed & getting sheet rock in some areas:
This is another bedroom that will be natural wood, with only trim painted.

Green, no Red, no Green, no Red!

When I arrived at the Rock Cottage today, the workers were painting the wrong colors on the house AGAIN!  I know that I changed one color, but GEEZ! The trim around the front door was painted red, so they assumed the trim around all the other doors needed to be repainted red. Wrong. Anyway, I hope everything will be the correct colors tomorrow.

Here are the wrong colors. Looks like we're ready for Christmas. LOL

No more red stove, as it has been moved during renovation.

I can't wait to get these tubs refinished, put the feet back on, and get some cool faucets.

The cute sink will need to be cleaned up a bit, and then reinstalled.

A new addition to the property is this POD. I knew it was only a matter of time before the china cabinet was broken, so I am glad it is in here now!

The steps were jack hammered away to make room for the 12' deck going from the rock wall to the end of the house. This will be a great place to sit & visit, while covering up an unsightly portion of the house.

The back bedrooms have had the carpet removed & hardwood floors were underneath! Yay! I'm thinking about calling this room the "Texas" room, with some red/white/blue going on, colorful old quilts, and using the 2 Western lamps that came with the house.
In the adjoining bathroom, I'm thinking of painting the tub red on the outside.
We are using some old pine planks that were hiding under a bedroom wall for the floor!

If this room is the "Texas Room" to be part of the Bed & Breakfast area, I need ideas and a "theme" for the other room. It also has wooden walls & ceiling. Susan N., Stephanie, Hope, Patti, Claudette, MK, Laura, Beth, and all you other decorators - please give me some ideas! Thanks, Kathy

More pics to share.

The exterior paint is almost finished. The crew misunderstood my color choice around the 2 front doors and painted one red, but I like it! So, today I went around the house today with a marker & wrote the color that I wanted on the doors just in case. LOL

Dining Room:

Bathroom with tub removed during construction:
I'm still deciding whether or not to put the old tub back, or get a reproduction cast iron claw foot tub. It will depend on the price of restoration of the old tub.

Front room office/bedroom has had sheet rock installed:
 Old dining room table:
 Old heater:
 Den in back of house:
Bath in back of house had built in cabinet removed to give more room:
Not too cute yet.
One of bedrooms in back of house:

First coat of red on door frame:
That's all for now. Come by again! Kathy

Exterior almost finished!

I thought that I'd share some pics that I took today. Most of the exterior paint is now finished except for the doors & a little trim. The new paint has really spruced the place up.

Sheet Rock! And paint, oh my!

I can't believe the difference that sheet rock makes! See for yourself.
Before:

After:

Here is a sneak peek of the paint. The green turned out WAY too bright! LOL. So the second coat will be darker. We also decided that there was too much green, so the window frames will be painted tan tomorrow, with green only on the inside. Anyway, here is a look at the first coat of paint:
Before:

After, but the second darker coat of green & more tan around the windows will be coming tomorrow:

What do you think?
Here are the toned down windows. I've also taken the tired sofa & chairs to be slip covered (thanks, Marshall), and I'm in the process of choosing drapery & pillow fabrics. That's my kind of fun. See you! Kathy
