Photo shoot at the Rock Cottage B & B

I asked my daughter, MK, to take some pictures at the Rock Cottage. She is an art student at UT Tyler, so I knew they would have an artistic flair. I am dressed in Magnolia Pearl attire to fit in with the rustic atmosphere of the home.
Welcome to the Rock Cottage B & B
Come check out our front porch.
Our twig furniture was purchased in Jefferson.
Come on in!
The living room has original hardwood floors, moldings, and light fixture. The sofa and trunk were original to the 1934 rock house.

MK is painting a mural around the niche we uncovered under the wallpaper. The Gibson Girl pictures on the left were found in a closet and are from the original owner, Bessie Davis.
MK is busy with college this fall, but hopefully she will find time to finish the mural.
The dining room walls were whitewashed over the original beadboard that was hiding under peeling wallpaper. The high chair is from 1917, and was used for several generations in the original owner's family. The watercolor painting on the back wall was painted by MK, and is a representation of the angel on top of the courthouse in Marshall, Texas. The light fixture matches the one in the living room, and has stained glass that I had to hide from the construction workers because they are irreplaceable.
The red Chamber's stove is charming, and original to the house. The cabinets are also original. The old butcher block was found at an antique shop in Jefferson, Texas.
Florence's Room was named after my Grandmother. That is her trunk in front of the bed. The dresser is original to the house, along with the armoire that is not pictured here. I purchased the chandelier at Walnut Street Market in Jefferson to glam it up a little. The yellow quilt on the edge of the bed was made from my mother's dresses from her childhood.
The Belle Room is named after the Apache Belles. I was a member in 1970-71, and my daughter MK in 2009-10, almost 40 years later. My hat is hanging on the bed, and her hat is on the wall. Pictures are displayed all around the room, including the poster made for the 60th. anniversary of the Apache Belles that is hanging below the hat.
And now to most people's favorite room, the den. The focal point is the rock wall, which was originally an exterior wall. The pine floors were added. The desk is original to the house, as well as the sofa to the far right that is covered with a vintage quilt. The rustic wood was uncovered under a layer of paneling and wallpaper. I added a new ceiling fan & vintage brass light fixture. A deer head and lanterns add to the rustic feel of the room.
Mollie's Room is available for guests, and has a queen bed. It is decorated with pictures of my favorite Boston Terrier.
Chloe doesn't have her own room, but she wanted to make an appearance.
One of the guest baths has Mollie painted on the old claw foot tub. This was done by MK.
The parlor is a work in progress. This will be an additional TV room. The focal point is the leopard sofa. One of my favorites is the statue lamp with Tiffany shade that I purchased in Jefferson.
Our latest project was having the deck painted.
