Moving Day - Part 2 & Drapery Installation

This sectional is made by Baker Furniture. It was free because I found it in storage at my husband's office.
Shabby Chic Couture dining table.
Furniture is being moved to The Rock Cottage from 4 different locations, so it has taken more than one day. Day 2 involved moving furniture from Hallsville. Here are some updated pics of what's in the house now:
Original sofa slipcovered in white.

Mollie is checking out the iron bed.

I am so glad to see this POD go!

That's all for now. I have lots of shopping and decorating left to do before it is finished.

Moving Day - Part 1

I have been directing this move from 9:30 am until 4:30 pm I never thought we would get to this point, but it's here. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
I can't believe that I paid to store some of this junk! LOL

I'm not sure what to do with this rocker yet. The fabric is not my style.

Questionable pile of stuff.

This piano belonged to the original owners & it's going back in the same spot.

LOL. I don't know where this came from, but it's going in the trash bin.

The POD is almost empty.

The sofa will be joining these 2 chairs tomorrow.

Gibson Girl pictures from the original owners.

Another piece that came with the house.

I am thinking about purchasing this bed.

This is another choice, but more expensive.

That's all for today. Stay tuned for Moving Day - Part 2.

Furniture is about to be moved in!

At last, my ideas are about to be a reality at The Rock Cottage. The original furniture has changed a bit, and I wanted to have everything bright & sunny instead of the usual Victorian colors with very dark fabrics and furniture. Here are some pictures:

The Gibson Girl pictures to the right are original to the house too.

On to the dining room:
These are the original dining chairs. The new look has lightened up the dark chairs. I only have one monogrammed so far, because they know how I am and wanted to get my approval first. LOL

On to the bathroom:
The red pictures are silhouettes of the owners children. I added the red frames.
I love the Victorian style faucet.

And last, the dressing room:
Look for more changes soon. Saturday, the furniture from the POD will be returned to the house, including the red stove! And next week the drapes will be installed, and hopefully all the plumbing will be finished. Then the next weekend, more furniture will be moved in from my storage building, garage, and my mom's house. Whew! Are y'all ready to see it in person?

The tubs have found their way out of the kitchen & into the bathrooms. lol

Finally, the 2 tubs have been painted, and placed in their homes. I had to look through all of the plumbing supplies that had been ordered & make sure they were correct. The guys only had time to place the tubs in the rooms, but tomorrow the sinks & toilets should be installed. I'll run check things out tomorrow afternoon to be sure. I love all the faucets that I ordered because they have the old fashioned "hot" & "cold" written out on the knobs. Here are the pics:

And the guest bathroom:

Mollie is checking out the tubs!

Hi all! There wasn't much action at The Rock Cottage today.  The painter put the last coat of paint on the 2 tubs.  I cleaned up some around the house & watered the parched grass. Some of the plumbing supplies are in, but not all of them. So now, it's a waiting game. I ordered Elizabethan fixtures for the tubs. The red will have shiny chrome, and the white will have oil-rubbed bronze.  The red one will also have one of those fancy hand-held showers that look like a telephone similar to this one:

In case you forgot, here is a before pic of the Master Bath:

And now:

Guest bedroom then:

And now:

And last, but not least, Mollie checking out the clawfoot tubs:

Thanks for looking! Till next time......Kathy

Goofing off at the construction site....

I had to snap this shot of Anthony trying out the tub. I was speechless. LOL.
Sorry ladies, he's taken. Now on to the decorating stuff.........

This is a vanity that I purchased soon after I acquired the house. I couldn't wait any longer to try it out in the dressing room adjacent to the master. I really like it here. It pops against the darker walls.

I purchased this vintage door knob for the kitchen door. The original brass one was worn out. I like the glass ones more.

And finally, we had some appliances delivered:

This is the partially installed shower. I'm acting as head contractor this week since the main man is vacationing in Florida. I'm sure everyone will be glad when he returns. LOL. But at this point, I just want everything done, so I'm giving the orders. Till next time, Kathy
