Farewell, my claw foot tubs.

I was in shock today as I looked into the back yard of the Rock Cottage. My beloved claw foot tubs were gone. Yes, it seems that scrap iron is up in price. I also found out that Academy has pink shot guns.
Seriously, I'll let the Jefferson Police Dept. handle this mishap. I am very sorry to lose my tubs though.
I was very attached to them.

In other news, the sheet rock is complete! Interior painting will begin new week. Stay tuned for more pictures. And maybe I'll get lucky & the police will find my tubs. This sink was stolen too:

Hopefully, I'll have better news to report next time. Like hanging my chandeliers!

Pictures from the Jefferson Pilgrimage

My mom & I went to see 3 of the four homes on tour this weekend in Jefferson, Texas. They were all beautiful, & provided great inspiration for our Rock Cottage. Hopefully, next year we will be able to open our house for tours. Here are some pictures that I wanted to share:
The first home home was immaculate.
I'm loving the blue & yellow room. It's very fresh & inviting.

The blue bedroom is a peaceful retreat.

The second home is fabulous, very grand, & formal.

This chandelier  from France is quite a show stopper!

What a grand foyer!
In the third home, we were greeted by a lovely girl explaining how the previous children's playroom had been converted into a bar. Great idea! LOL

Here a a few more pics of the Rock Cottage:

That's all for now. Thanks for visiting. Remember to click "Follow" at the top of the page. Thanks, Kathy

Come see the New Deck!!!!!!!!

I haven't been to the house in 5 days, and what a difference 5 days can make! Look at the new deck:

 Love it!

Owner Sis Owens & contractor Ricky take a look.

The kitchen is looking good with new sheet rock!
 It looks so much better!

This area will be left in natural wood. The rest of the kitchen will be painted a light sage green.

Apricot tree on the property:

Last, but not least, I have given these two tired (but cute) chairs a new look:

This is another rock house in Jefferson that my mother & I stumbled upon. I think it has a great storybook quality. Maybe a future project??

That's all for now. See ya, Kathy
